What We Do

Bara Barang, in Darkinyung language, means ‘make tomorrow’. We share the wisdom, spirituality and customs of Aboriginal people through innovative cultural, employment, training and career pathway programs.

Indigenous Skills and Employment Program

Express your interest to join our Indigenous Skills and Employment Program, with a focus on Manufacturing and related industries!

This program was co-designed with Community and Industry and led by Bara Barang, to support Aboriginal participants 15-30 years with a unique approach to culture and careers.

Raise your awareness of Manufacturing industry occupations with specialists to mentor and guide you into employment via skill acquisition and career pathway activities, including:

Entry-level training in manufacturing leading to Statement of Attainment qualification

Foundation Skills in literacy and numeracy

$

Access to worksites for tours, work tasters, work experience and job placements

$

Mentoring and cultural support individually and in yarning circles

$

Connections to apprenticeships, traineeships and paid work in a variety of job roles

$

Community involvement to provide advice, guidance and feedback on the program as its rolled out over four years
